Black and White

0

Oh boy. Another new Party Planning Agent. Can you imagine me trying to explain to him what I do when I’m limited to Black/White Caricatures?? Like, unless the Client is Real Strict about Only Black Lines on White Paper, I might be using Black Lines and Gray Lines on White Paper or on Colored Paper ~ but still just drawing with black lines and gray lines. And white lines.

And once in a while even throwing in a little bit of necessary Color. But keeping it mostly drawn just with Black Lines.

I pulled the following Samples from this blog to explain it to him. Is it understandable? Do you understand me?

Sometimes it all feels so Overwhelming

0

Where am I? What day is it? And

Who turned out the lights???

As long as we had a few moments of pleasant connection. It doesn’t really matter if I don’t always know what’s going on. At this Party, I was told to set up near the door, then I was moved quickly under some tree-decorations. The music was LOUd. The people were ACtive. And I felt glad to be there. My Clients make the Parties.
I just make the Pictures.

But Where am I supposed to be? Who are you? It’s all happening so fast.

I Think I Did a Good Job ~

I Think I Did a Good Job ~
But how am I to know? Especially when the guests come to me already Face-Painted (by someone else), and I have to try to figure out what they look like underneath it.

I do Face Painting as well as Caricatures, but THIS IS NOT MY FACE PAINTING.
IT’S ONLY MY CARICATURES. If I had been intrigued by the other Artist’s #facepainting, I might have chosen to incorporate it into my Caricature. But since this is so not my style of face-painting, I tried to see through it. You can see Samples of My Face Painting at facepaintingexpress.blogspot.com

The reactions to my Caricatures felt like I hit the nail on the head. Even the last picture here in which I drew the mustaches on the ladies because they requested that I do so. Just look at the #Fun everyone was having when they saw their #Party Caricatures!

Dear Keni

My Loving Brother is dealing with some very difficult issues right now. He seriously needs to make some money. If only people would buy his music at dspacer.com ~ It feels like a life and death situation for him already. Seriously.

My pen was doodling while we were just talking on the phone.
Here’s what I drew:

Purple Paper

Back again talking on the phone with my Dear Brother.

This time I was doodling on a paper that had been leftover from an event in which my client ordered preprinted papers. I make extras when I do this ~ so I wouldn’t run out during the event. But then I can only use the paper for my own doodling. I particularly love the way the Colors show up on the Purple Paper:

Thank You for The #Techies

0

Techies ~ is that the proper way to refer to people who do what you do?

Techies ~ is that what they call them? Those fantastic people who keep our Computers running?

I was just saved (once again) by my own guy. He was in Texas, but a quick email, and I had the answer of how to get rid of a program that wouldn’t stop popping up on my Computer. I had thought of him when I drew this Caricature of A DIFFERENT TECHIE at a recent NYC event. (My guy is in Texas)

I was drawing for a Big Company right near Penn Station. They hired me to draw at their ‘Health Fair’ event. One of the adorable employees that sat down for his Caricature, had a slight interruption. He quickly gave his associate the solution. When he apologized for the interruption, he said that he’s always working. He said that they always need help with something.
Even though this was a time-off event.

I asked him what he did. He explained something much like my own Computer guy (the one that helped me this morning even though he was in Texas today) does. Something like “I keep their Computer programs working.” He said that it’s crazy-busy because he is THE ONLY ONE that handles all their big offices here in NYC, Chicago, and a few other places all over the country. Wow. Amazing how much we need those guys. Big Companies, Banks, and Governments rely on these overworked Geniuses as much as I do. As most people with Computers do.

I’m so fortunate to have a Professional Techie of my own. I feel so grateful that I just wanted to take this opportunity to say “Let’s Hear It For the Techies! Let’s Show Them Our Appreciation!”

Update: I was told they’re called COMPUTER PROGRAMMERS. The people who tell the Computers how to work so they will work the way we want.

Rave Reviews !

Thank You to my Fantastic Clients who say such good things to my Agent. He just thanked me for another Rave Review that just came in from our recent event from Airstream. It does make a difference for me:

Wonderful! Alison was wonderful and I will use her again next year for our company picnic. Everyone loved every design she made. I will look through our pictures and will forward them to you. Sandra R., Human Resources Manager, Airstream

Extremely talented! Alison was great. It was the second time she was at my venue and is extremely talented! Lynn Mione

Perfect - She said yes! The event was perfect. Alison was great and my girlfriend was very surprised when she walked around to see the picture and saw the “will you marry me” and then looked to me and I was on my knee with the ring out. A large group of people (passers by) saw what Alison was drawing and stayed off in the distance to watch what would happen next. My girlfriend said yes we had a lot of cheers and clapping. Alison truly helped create a memory for us that will last a lifetime. Thank you so much!!! Greg Gabitosi

AWESOME! Thanks for everything, she was AWESOME!!!!! Gina Prego

Wonderful! The talent you booked for us at our recent event in Armonk, New York was wonderful. They were very attentive to the guests and very easy to work with. They arrived on time and were very professional in all aspects of the evening. We will definitely use your services again. Keith Watson

They had Fun

Started as a real quiet event. People kinda feeling like they were just at lunch on a regular workday. But their company had provided a big spread with lots of entertainers. Set up in a large room that was open to their cafeteria.

They started coming to me slowly. But once they saw what was happening, they sure got involved. Happiness giving energy. Aaaahhh.

It’s interesting to me how the more attractive businesses keep their employees from feeling like drudges. By lifting their Spirits intermittently, there is sort of a carry-over in which people Want to work there. People Want to relate to each other, and they Enjoy their jobs as though they’re involved in Interesting Projects. Just because of the way they are treated by the Company.

Nine Years Ago

I love my customers. I love my repeat clients. So many interesting people that I can meet in the world.

Here are some pictures taken after I did Face Painting at an 8-year old girl’s Party. For a Client who has been hiring me once or twice every year since I met her back when she was first Pregnant with the beautiful girl who just turned 8. Sometimes Caricatures, Sometimes Face Painting.

After the girls were all painted, my client let me walk around her beautiful home so she could show me the Caricatures that were hanging in her husband’s office. I had drawn them at her Big Family Reunion when she was Pregnant with the girl who had just turned 8. That was Nine Years Ago.

And here she is today. Standing next to her Caricature from nine years ago. I can still see her resemblance, even though she changed some things like her hairstyle and glasses.

I feel happy to see that my Artwork can become a solid part of people’s lives. And I feel blown away when I see it hanging in a home that includes some of the best Artists ever. It felt rude to just keep snapping photos of Everything in the woman’s home, so I only asked to photograph this one Keith Haring picture which was just too magnetic for me. It looks like just the right thing to see while we run around all day handling so many different things:

What we see affects how we interpret our situations.

And here are some of the Face Paintings that I did at this 8-year-old Girl’s Birthday Party. She arranged for a ‘My Little Pony’ Theme.

Senator Jerry Stevenson

0
0

I just came back from an Event in Reno ~ I flew Coach as usual.
Squashed next to my fellow passengers, if you know what I mean. So I felt surprised that it was a U.S. Senator! And his wife. Senator Jerry Stevenson and his wife Susan from Utah.

I found myself in the unique position of having a Senator’s ear for hours ~ not that we spoke the whole time of course. They were both quite cordial.

So much to do getting home at the moment ~ I have to sort through my own event’s ideas as well as get back into the swing of all the new events that I have to be ready for. But I’m posting about this meeting sort of like bookmarking my experience ~ hoping I’ll remember to post my pictures of Republican Senator from Utah.

BTW, we spoke quite candidly ~ of both personal situations And public situations. It was quite an experience to see how clearly a person can speak about political positions when he is the person whose opinion can really make a difference. Felt different than hearing a private citizen’s opinions.

For example, I felt impressed with Senator Stevenson’s response to my confusion about Obamacare. Senator Stevenson compared it to the feelings about the Social Security System. Originally people might have been scared of it, but over time, they’ve come to see the good that it can do. He said that Obamacare is a good idea, but needs a bit of tweaking before it would be satisfying. He swung so comfortably from our chitchat about our trips and our businesses into major political questions. Candid and unedited.

I like this Digital Caricature

0

I’m getting there. I just made a Digital Caricature on my IPad. Figuring out a Professional Approach to the Artwork. I felt comfortable making it.

For practice, I just used one of the people that I previously drew with Traditional Caricature Supplies.

Now to be smoother with this approach. That can be achieved if I just do a lot of them. Then to figure out the Projector and Screen. Maybe a printer. And I’ll be ready to offer them at events.

Drawing Caricatures overlooking the Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC

Once again, I was hired to draw Caricatures for the Thanksgiving Event that Momentum Worldwide prepares for some very Special People. We get a beautiful venue near the end of the event where we can overlook the Big Parade.

Here are some of the pictures I drew this year.

Such nice open people. I felt glad to let them in on my Fun:

I surprised this woman by drawing her picture while she was watching the Parade:

and here it is! The Macy Day Parade!

Our Proposal

There have been many Loves before Ours.
Everyone who is Married has Proposed this idea to his/her Date.
Yet Our Experience is what we experience.
Our experience is Our Life.
As the song says “I Hope You Dance”

Here is the Proposal that I designed for these two Glowing People.
It didn’t need anything mundane to distract from the Heart that I sensed from the man who contacted me about his dreams. I will enjoy making his dreams Tangible. See~able.

Here’s what I drew ~ Based on these Reference Photos which he sent me ahead of time:

New Computer!

Oh I feel so excited. New Computer.

But I used to work on a PC, and now I’m working on a Mac. Glad I know a lot already, but everything is just a little different. So it will take more time and patience to do everything. For a while.

This is my first attempt at posting some pictures with my new Mac Computer. It’s some Caricatures that I recently drew at a Wine Tasting Event on Staten Island:

Whew ~ That took me for ever. I’m assuming that it will get better after I do it a few more times.

At least I like my pictures. At least I remember the Fun Event. AAAAAND there is now room on my new sleek Computer.
